Eqron (Israël ; ville ancienne)
Vedette matière nom géographique. S'emploie en tête de vedette ou en subdivision.
Une des places fortes de la Pentapole philistine (âge du fer), bâtie à la bordure
occidentale de la plaine côtière intérieure faisant frontière naturelle et historique
entre la Philistie et la Judée, et finalement détruite lors de la campagne de Nabuchodonosor
en 604 avant J.-C. Ses vestiges ont été identifiés à Tel Miqne (ar. Khirbet el-Muqanna῾),
à env. 35 km au sud-ouest de Jérusalem.
